About Me

I build infrastructure, automate repetitive work, troubleshoot systems, and occasionally stare at logs long enough for them to reveal their secrets.

Over the years I've worked across Linux environments, VMware infrastructure, Apache, PHP, MySQL, networking, monitoring, storage systems, backups, load balancing, firewalls, cloud migrations and deployment automation.

If something breaks at 03:14 on a Sunday morning, there is a reasonable chance I've seen something similar before.

Technical Arsenal

Selected Achievements

• Designed and rebuilt infrastructure platforms including VMware deployments and hosting migrations.
• Built firewall and load-balancing systems using iptables and HAProxy.
• Managed large-scale Apache and PHP environments serving scientific content.
• Built deployment tooling and development systems to make developers happier. (A dangerous game.)
• Moved infrastructure thinking toward cloud-native approaches without immediately rewriting everything in Kubernetes because sometimes practicality wins.
• Successfully convinced servers to keep running through equal parts engineering and quiet optimism.

Outside Technology

🚵 Mountain biking — because debugging infrastructure wasn't enough suffering.

🧔 Growing a beard — currently operating with enterprise-grade facial redundancy.

🇩🇪 Learning German — occasionally successful.

🎨 Learning Blender — discovering that 3D modelling makes infrastructure diagrams look easy.

🍕 Pizza enthusiast — because every serious infrastructure project eventually requires pizza.
